I'm after a professional job anywhere in the field of helping people. I'm mid 40s, when I was last job hunting it was really different.

How the fuck do I start?

When I was at school there were emos, goths, nerds. My school didn't have a dress code so people dressed however they liked. The nerds would often wear polo shirts. There were also the artsy kind of people who would draw anime in class and they were typically very shy and reserved but excelled in art class. Then there was this clique that looked like gangsters. I call them goldies, because they always wore something gold. Despite their gangster inspired look, they were incredibly goofy and nonthreatening. They were really bad students because they'd always play up, but were great lads overall. Got along with those the best

How cracking was the music to this little show?

Many, many years ago, there was a group in (I think) London with a website about something they called anarchitecture. Had a lot of stuff about weird posters on city streets (we called it 'culture jamming' back in the day), repurposing public spaces, etc. Lot of early 2000s punkesque humour.

Does anyone recall this group and any details? Trying to track down the old website (e.g. mentions floating around in old articles with a link I can toss in Wayback, that kind of thing), but only really recall the term 'anarchitecture' and the fact that they had a project called NOT CRICKET (conceit was challenging MPs to a game of cricket in a government-owned outdoor space). Web searches have been less than helpful so far, mostly bringing up architecture businesses. Anything may help, even just recalling names used for other projects.

Edit: changed 'reality jamming" to 'culture jamming', which is the appropriate term and the one I think said group used. Another memory: one of the stunts was setting up desks and/or mini-parties in parking spaces.

Since manufacturers have swapped out spare wheels for tyre emergency kits, I’ve had three punctures. I’ve never gotten a foam repair kit to actually work. 3 attempts, 3 failures.

Has anyone actually got a success story with a foam repair kit?

I’ve bought a spare slim emergency wheel and put it in the wheel well now. Simply cannot be bothered trying and failing with another reinflation foam kit next time a flat tyre occurs.

I try to buy based on reviews. Not insta influence or amazon reviews. I like to hear real people’s opinions, and one that isn’t being paid for. And it needs to be something I can purchase local.

So I was thinking maybe we could pick some products maybe common stuff, hot items etc and maybe all chirp in.

It could be from reviewing tomato sauce from supermarket to supermarket, or let’s compare cardboard cutters.

Anyone fancy it?

Times are hard and what not. Anyone do paid surveys, cashback offers etc? Any good ideas?

Right, I suspect I'm for the chop in January and didn't want to leave anything on the table.

What actions should I take now rather than wait for redundancy?

I'm talking less about "hit the gym/LinkedIn" and more to get the most from the company while I'm still engaged.

So for example, I plan to call on the employee assistance services to work on some counselling that I suspect could help me (in case that service extends indefinitely while the case is open).

Need to replace it before it dies as being without a kettle is inhumane

I get my news via RSS. I am currently using The National (a Scottish paper) as my main source, but I'm uncertain of the quality of the writing, and the number of articles imported from USA Today irks me a little. I have also tried The Guardian, i, The Scotsman, Edinburgh Evening News, Sky News, and of course BBC News; however I moved away from these for various reasons.

So, in the interest if improving my feed, what papers do you all read?

Mine was dead handy for taking places with me, but it's dying.

I wake up all achey muscles and such, for sure, but the level of comfort is unparalleled

I could spend all day there
