"As revolutionaries, we don't have the right to say that we're tired of explaining. We must never stop explaining. We also know that when the people understand, they cannot but follow us. In any case, we, the people, have no enemies when it comes to peoples. Our only enemies are the imperialist regimes and organizations." Thomas Sankara, 1985

Insulting DPP (democratic progressive party) leadership is now officially illegal in Taiwan. Taiwan can finally stop pretending they have political free speech.

Public insult is a criminal offense under Taiwan's Criminal Code, unlike in many other democracies. Lin faces up to one year in prison or a fine of less than NT$9,000 (US$287) under Article 309 of Taiwan’s Criminal Code, CNA reported. The charges stem from remarks Lin made during a speech at a live-streamed rally outside DPP headquarters on July 20.

Taipei District Prosecutors Office investigators said Lin, then a serving lawmaker, repeatedly used obscene language in his speech, including swearing aimed directly at Lai five times.

In many way DPP is far more corrupt than KMT can dream to be. The DPP routinely dismisses every budget-related issues or corruption accusation as an unfounded smear orchestrated by paid communist actors, and regularly use nazi like tactic to rally crowd to storm legislative building to suspend hearing against DPP corruptions.

And DPP supporter leadership have directly evoked nazi movement as inspiration for rallying DPP supporters to vote for the recall ballet to evict KMT and TPP held seats. https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/news/6170830 Minnan Wolf (閩南狼), a Taiwanese influencer and former ally of Chiung, announced on Sunday that he was cutting ties with him, per Newtalk. Wolf accused Chiung of studying Nazi ideology in depth and attempting to apply it during a political recall campaign.

Wolf alleged that Chiung shared images of Nazi eagles and military insignia with him as reference materials. He claimed Chiung talked about creating an organization similar to the Sturmabteilung, the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party, and discussed launching a “revolution” if the recall effort advanced to an election phase.
